The only problem is...
- Math PD doesn’t focus on building students’ math identity.
- You don’t have support to plan engaging math lessons.
- You’re not even sure where to begin.
Right now you…
✔️understand the need for a classroom community.
✔️are open to learning new strategies.
✔️work hard to understand best practices.
You wish you had…
💡better engagement in math
💡 a clear vision for what a class of mathematicians is like.
💡 strategies to help students develop a positive math mindset.
You actually looked forward to math class because you know how to develop a classroom culture that fosters students’ math identities.
…to help you develop a vision for your math class without math engagement issues and support you in fostering a positive classroom community.
Hey Friend, I’m Mona, and I created Growing Math Identities because I want to help teachers create student centered classrooms that empower students to love and understand math.
I grew up believing I wasn’t a math person and I started teaching without a passion for math. I didn’t truly fall in love with teaching math until I learned to build a community of mathematicians, just like I built a community of readers and writers. My students and I started to name math as our favorite part of the day. It was with a strong vision for how I would develop my students as mathematicians that led me to realize everyone, even myself, can be a math person.
Reflect on your math story to develop your beliefs about learning math that will be used to craft your math vision.
BONUS: A math stories workshop to use with your students.
You’ll get a video training on developing mindset in yourself and your students with 3 tangible ways to do so immediately. This will allow you to create a classroom that fosters a positive math identity.
In two video lessons you’ll reflect on data and analyze the effects on today’s math classrooms. Then, gain strategies to use real life mathematicians in your classroom so that students can learn about themselves, their peers, and their world.
Using your learning & reflections, you’ll create a math vision so that you can use to make decisions in your math classroom with confidence, knowing that your classroom will foster a positive math identity for all.

A. This course material applies to all students and teachers. I have spent 13 years teaching in inner city Chicago and it worked with every single student I taught. I’m confident it will work for you in your situation, but if you have questions send me a message and let’s chat!
A. I’m confident that won’t happen. We all have something to learn. Additionally, I have poured research from multiple sources and years of experience into this course. However, if you find it’s not for you and isn’t worth your time you can get a refund per the refund policy– a full refund within 3 days of purchase and no more than 2 videos watched or 2 resources downloaded.
A. Well, this course was priced with teachers in mind. As a teacher myself I know you don’t have a ton of money… but I do know you spend your own money to improve in your craft because you CARE. So, I priced this course about the same as a professional education text. You could buy a professional text for $39-49, read two chapters and then apply little to nothing…. OR you can watch these video lessons, download the materials, and start making this happen in your classroom tomorrow!
The value of the resources alone is $20 if you were to buy everything on TeachersPayTeachers.
5 video PD trainings a value of $250
A coaching call $50
A community of like minded teachers… PRICELESS!
